Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce
At a recent webinar on Global Talent Independent visas (GTI) hosted by the Law Council of Australia, senior personnel from the Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce presented to representatives outlining details of the Australian Government’s GTI program.
See here to see if your expertise is in one of the key industry sectors that Australia is seeking to attract under the GTI program.
Australia is seeking to attract the brightest and the best around the world in key industry sectors to permanently reside in Australia with their families and contribute their internationally recognised skills to the Australian economy. The Taskforce has been set up by the Australian government to provide ‘concierge’ services, in order to guide suitably talented candidates and their representatives through the process that involves first making an Expression of Interest (EOI), before a visa application can be made for subclass 858 GTI.
The Taskforce confirmed that they encouraged questions, both prior to lodgement of an EOI as well as during the EOI process. They also emphasised the critical importance for EOIs to detail how relevant selection criteria are met, in much the same way as you might apply for an employment position.
Lucas Australian Migration can provide you with expert guidance as to how your GTI Expression of Interest can address relevant selection criteria and how your suitability for this program can be evidenced.
Although priority processing is generally only given to GTI candidates assessed as being high calibre performers in their relevant industry sector, importantly for Hong Kong GTI candidates, following a recent announcement by the Australian government, GTI EOIs and visa applications by Hong Kong passport holders are now also being prioritised.
